Breguet 14, conceived by Louis Breguet in 1916, has been used like bomber at the end of the war 14-18.
After war, equipped with compartments under the wings to place postal bags, it was employed by the Company of the air transport of Louis Breguet on the Paris-London-Brussels way.
The famous Air-mail company AEROPOSTALE used them since 1919 until 1927 on its Toulouse-Dakar line. Very robust, they could land everywhere. They allowed exploration of the various terrestrial parts of the line for its regular use. In the middle of the glorious hours of the line, the Breguet 14 were used by Mermoz, Guillaumet, St Exupery, Reine, Ville. During flights over the desert parts between Casablanca and Dakar, during strong heats, the breakdowns and emergency landings were not rare, with the risk to be attacked by the local tribes, in becoming their prisoner and being exchanged against a ransom. Then the pilots took again the postal service without delay.
The cockpit contains elements "metric gauges" created by Urban F and elements created with helps of the application "ScaleMaker Advanced" by Justin Ratcliff.
The pilot comes from the Bertrand Augras' Pilot collection.
